The 2nd largest taxpayer in CT - after GE - is United Properties. It's $50 million or some absurd number like that. And Al Lenoci is now in jail. The town has no interest in having him go away, because he basically floats the town. The fact that he's a crook is an inconvenience. He pretty much gets what he wants, as do the other board members at planning & zoning, etc. They all pass each other's projects. It not white-collar crime, it's more gray crime - it's cronyism at its best.
